Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada
The AFOA-Meyers Norris Penny LLP Aboriginal Youth Financial Managements Awards are open to First Nation youth in grades 11 and 12. Winners attend AFOA’s National Conference and participate in a special Youth program designed to introduce youth to careers in Aboriginal finance and management.
There is a great demand both within First Nation communities and off-reserve for Aboriginal financial management professionals and there are many opportunities for those who want to pursue this career path and many sources of assistance. However, very few of our young people are pursuing and education in financial management after high school.
That is why AFOA and Meyers Norris Penny LLP have come together to offer the Aboriginal Youth Conference Awards in Financial Management.
Dealine for Notification of Interest November 15,2011. Deadline for Final Submissions – January 13, 2012
